Government lauds Melcom-Hallab 1881 partnership for promoting tourism

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts has lauded the efforts of the Melcom Group of Companies for partnering with world-class brands to promote local and international tourism.

According to the Ministry, the Nana Akufo-Addo Government wants to make tourism the number one contributor to the GDP of Ghana, but that cannot happen without private sector participation.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey who reiterated this at the Melcom event open Hallab Gourment 1881 in Accra said “effort like this, the Lebanese Restaurant that we are going to have in this country, it is going to help the agenda of selling to foreigners and the internal customers-people who believe in the domestic tourism will come here and take a bite of a Labanese food”.

He congratulated the Management of Melcom, saying that “we know the achievement of Melcom, it does not just happen, it takes some degree of hard work to get to where they have gotten to.

Those of us who have lived in Ghana for about 30 years, know-how Melcom started”.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of Communications for The Group, Godwin Avenorgbo said, Melcom is pleased to add a new and exciting experience to their hospitality business by adding “an exciting experience to our services for the benefit of everyone who desires quality and variety”.

He said with the official opening of the first Hallab Gourmet 1881, “this new magnificent edifice, Melcom Mall, is quickly becoming the preferred destination, offering a variety of tantalizing specialized services for families and friends to relax and enjoy.”

Mr. Avenorgbo stressed that “with its 140-year-old heritage, this family-owned and operated business has passed down through generations, and has become a pioneer in the world of oriental sweets that is widely recognized internationally as the leading brand for Lebanese premium sweets”.

Hallab Gourmet 1881 is noted for hand-crafted high-quality sweets and food in a modern setting at competitive prices as he maintained that, “we have put in place a well-structured food safety and quality management system which complies with not only FDA regulations but meets international standards to serve our customers with a consistent supply of premium quality products to meet your lifestyles”.
