Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Professor Peter Quartey has lauded Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) decision to maintain the policy rate at 14.5 despite the expected drop due to the adverse effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is the seventh consecutive time the Central Bank has maintained the rate after reducing it to this level in March 2020.
Speaking in an interview with Business News, Prof Quartey said factors that drove the decision are part of strategies to revamp economic activities.
