Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister, will present the Annual Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government for 2023 before Parliament today, Thursday, November 24, 2022, which is in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
Prior to the presentation, the Ministry of Finance stated that the Budget would focus on “government strategies to restore and stabilize the macroeconomic environment, create a resilient economy, and promote inclusive growth and value creation.”
The 2023 budget is also said to include updates on Ghana’s engagement with the International Monetary Fund for the implementation of an IMF-sponsored programme, year-to-date macroeconomic economic performance, climate action strategies and fiscal measures as well as debt management strategies to promote fiscal sustainability and economic growth in the country.
