MASLOC’s CEO Abibata Shanni Mahama steps down

Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah has resigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) with immediate effect. Her resignation letter, dated January 31, 2025, was addressed to the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President and officially received on February 4, 2025.

Having served for eight years, both as Deputy CEO and later as substantive CEO under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Hajia Abibata described her tenure as a privilege. She stated, “Over the years, it has been a privilege to serve and contribute to the growth and success of MASLOC. However, I believe this is the right moment for me to step down and allow new leadership to guide the organisation.”

In her letter, she expressed gratitude towards the Board, Management, and Staff for their support during her time at MASLOC. She emphasized her confidence in the organization’s future success and pledged to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Hajia Abibata also acknowledged the trust placed in her by former President Akufo-Addo, stating that her appointments reflect his commitment to empowering women in Ghana.
