President Akufo-Addo vows to fix economy

President Akufo-Addo has attributed recent challenges confronting the Ghanaian economy to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He has however, vowed not to hide behind the COVID to make excuses for the difficulties the Ghanaian economy is going through.

The President said criticism of the management of the economy is politically motivated, adding that the ”pandemic has derailed the economic gains recorded by the government”.

Addressing Participants at the 73rd New Year School at Legon in Accra, President Akufo-Addo said ”despite the global loss of jobs pushing many into extreme poverty, government ensured no job losses or a reduction in salaries of Public Sector workers”.
