Some Petroleum Consumers are appealing to the government to fast-track its planned intervention to cushion them against the frequent increases in fuel prices. Speaking to GBCNews they say the continuous upward adjustment in fuel prices is impacting negatively on the cost of living and putting pressure on their businesses.
“There is hardship in town and when we buy fuel we don’t make any profit. Government should intervene to cushion us,” stated a taxi driver.
On his part, Patrick Asemda, also a driver, said; “I am even shy about borrowing money to buy fuel for work. Government should help us so we can work and take care of our families”.
“We will die if fuel prices go up to eleven cedis. Some measures should be put in place to alleviate our plight.” another driver indicated.
