President Akufo-Addo is expected to deliver his penultimate State of the Nation address on 27th February, 2024.
With high expectations among Ghanaians and stakeholders across various sectors, many eagerly await a message full of optimism for the nation’s trajectory beyond his tenure as well as insights on progress made in key areas such as the economy.
Speaking to Business News, an Economist, Peter Terkper said he expects the government to focus on ensuring that macro economic indicators are stable.
He noted that, being an election year, the government will prioritise sectors such as education, health, and infrastructure.
However, no new policy can be introduced as budget has already been prepared.
Mr. Terkper said everything the government does will be geared towards the IMF conditionalities.
He urged the authorities to implement the policies in a manner that will not put Ghanaians at a disadvantage.
