The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, PURC is engaging the public to collate views and suggestions on the proposals of the various utility companies for adjustment in tariffs.
The proposals from both ECG and Ghana Water have been rejected by many consumers while discussions continue on the adjustment. PURC wants to examine the Public suggestions and concerns before making its decision and announcement for the 2022 – 2027 tariff in July. Speaking at the Public hearing in Accra, Executive Secretary of PURC Dr. Ishmael Ackah says the hearing is to make the tariff review transparent and participatory.
Some of the views from the public include difficult situations financially recent times and a tariff increase would complicate the situation.
