The General Secretary of the Mobile Money Operators Association, Evans Otumfuo, has revealed that the implementers of the Electronic Transfer

Levy E-Levy failed to engage them in any discourse concerning the operationalization of the new tax.

“We have not been consulted in any way even though we the Momo Vendors play a very crucial role in the implementation of the controversial E-Levy”, he claimed.

The General Secretary of the Mobile Money Operators Association made the revelation via a phone interview with Thelma Tackie, on the GTV Breakfast Show, Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

According to him, there has been one-way traffic since the start of the collection of the E-Levy.

“In most cases, there is corresponding traffic for momo transactions i.e., deposits, and withdrawals. But since Sunday there has been only one-way traffic. People are withdrawing without a corresponding deposit” Otumfuo disclosed.
