Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have left the shores of Ghana for Egypt ahead of this weekend’s CAF Champions League against record winners Al Ahly.

The Mauves and Yellow provided the Black Stars with three players in the likes of Jonathan Sowah, Nurudeen Abdulai, and Fatawu Hamid in the just-ended first round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

Coach Augustine Evans revealed that his approach to Saturday’s match is to attack, defend, and avoid a loss, and he’s very confident that his side will play in the quarterfinals if they’re able to advance out of the group.

Medeama are in Group D alongside Young Africans of Tanzania, Al Ahly of Egypt, and CR Belouizdad of Algeria.
