Government is committed to paying food suppliers all monies due them. Minister of Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, in a statement in Parliament over the delay in payment prayed the food suppliers to keep faith with the government as it will make good its pledge.

He said 50 percent of the money will hit the accounts of the caterers this week.

On July 7, 2023, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, summoned the Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, and Education to brief the House on the challenges being faced by the Ghana Food and Buffer Stock Agency in paying debts owed suppliers.

He made the directive after some members had drawn the attention of the House to the plight of the vendors.

Meanwhile, sitting in Parliament on Tuesday, July 18, again saw the absence of the minority as they were in Court.
