Christian Atsu is confirmed to have died following the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6.
The Ghanaian winger was reported missing following the earthquake and his body has now been discovered.
“My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones,” Atsu’s agent confirmed the sad news on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, Hatayspor, Christian Atsu’s Turkish club, have expressed grief over the death of the 31-year-old Ghana soccer star.
Confirming his death in a tweet, the club described Atsu’s loss as “indescribable”.
The official statement added that plans are underway to hold the Black Stars player’s funeral in Ghana.
