An International Relations Analyst, Dr. Vladimir Antwi Danso, says he is not surprised at the latest coup in Niger because all the elements of the Coup are in Africa.
He said the indications that Niger would experience this development were evident after the Malian leader was toppled.
Dr. Antwi Danso said he predicted Niger was a candidate for coup in a meeting to discuss Mali but no one believed him.
He doubts if ECOWAS can carry out its threats of a military action in Niger, saying ”any such move would make matters worse”.
Dr. Antwi Danso said the fall of a democracy in Africa not brewed to suit the people will always have such repercussions.
He said what the continent needs in terms of democracy is one cut according to the Continent’s socio-historical and cultural realities.
