In the midst of the hysteria surrounding the deadly Corona Virus, have you stopped for a minute to think about how the bodies of people who die from the condition will be managed? Although the government has given assurance of keeping such corpses safe for internment, many families are still concerned about how well their deceased relatives are being kept, especially due to the lockdown coupled with a possible crowding of these bodies.

Radio Ghana caught up with the General Secretary of the Mortuary Workers Union, Richard Jordan. He told Eugenia Asumadu Sakyi that government should designate a central mortuary for all COVID-19 related deaths.

Mr Jordan descried the neglect of government in the provision of PPEs for mortuary workers as being done for other frontline staff in the fight against COVID-19.

Meanwhile the Mortuary Workers association, MOWA has welcomed the incentives to be given to frontline Health Workers to combat COVID-19.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the General Secretary of MOWA, Richard Jordan said the Association hopes the incentives will cover its members as they are equally key manpower in the management of COVID-19 cases.
