CPP seeks revival of Nkrumah’s ideology amidst election challenges

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) candidate for the Bosomtwe Constituency, Eric Osei Boateng has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of deliberately undermining the CPP’s core values and legacy.

In an interview with an Accra based media station on Wednesday, November 13,2024, Mr Eric Osei Boateng alleged that both parties have infiltrated the CPP with the goal of erasing the vision of Ghana’s founding father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

He argues that the NPP and NDC have deliberately undermined the CPP’s strength, recognizing the power of Nkrumah’s vision for a unified and developed Africa.

He says the two parties, fearing the CPP’s potential, resorted to a coup d’état to overthrow Nkrumah and hinder his pan-African agenda.

Osei Boateng criticizes the current state of Ghana, highlighting the nation’s crippling debt, reliance on the IMF, and the high cost of living, all under the governance of the NPP and NDC.

“The country is now in debt. The IMF has been in control of the economy, and Cost of Living is now unbearable,” he stated.

He points to the industrial projects established by Nkrumah, like the Aboso Glass Factory and Komenda Sugar Factory, as proof of his commitment to industrialization, a feat neither party has been able to replicate.

The CPP, struggling with limited resources and visibility compared to the well-funded campaigns of the NDC and NPP, is facing a challenging election season. Despite these obstacles, the party remains dedicated to reviving its founding ideology and returning to Nkrumah’s vision for a prosperous and independent Ghana.

His statement highlights the growing frustration within the CPP, raising questions about the role of third-party influence in Ghana’s political landscape.

With a desire for change and a renewed focus on Nkrumah’s ideals, the CPP sees the 2024 elections as a critical opportunity to reclaim its original vision and make a tangible impact on Ghana’s future.
