Ghana Police arrest two more suspects in Nsoatreman-Kotoko match disturbances

Ghana Police Service in a continued effort to restore order and bring justice to the violent disturbances that erupted during the football match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC, has apprehended two additional suspects. The arrested individuals, identified as Isaac Ofosu and Yeboah Augustine, are currently in police custody and are aiding authorities in their ongoing investigation into the alarming incident that transpired on February 2, 2025.

The violent clashes, which took place at Nsoatre in the Bono Region, sparked public outrage and raised significant concerns regarding safety at sporting events in Ghana. The police have emphasized their commitment to ensuring that such incidents do not recur, and they are taking decisive action to hold all responsible parties accountable. With the latest arrests, the total number of individuals detained in connection with the disturbances has now risen to five.

Authorities have indicated that the investigation is being conducted through an intelligence-led operation.
