An Acting Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr. Kwabena Tandoh says the self-placement module of the Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) has been reopened for candidates to choose their schools.
Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, ‘Focus,’ Dr. Tandoh said attempts were made to hack into the system hence its closure.
He said the issue has been rectified and the system is open for students with no schools to log in and get their placements.
Dr. Tandoh refuted allegations that personnel at the CSSPS Secretariat have been changed hence the challenges. He however said the only change that was made was with the software used to run the placement.
Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education, Peter Nortsu Kotoe said the current challenges of the placement system should not be politicised.
He added that there is the need for rebranding of the SHS placement system.
The President of the Association of PTAs, Alexander Danso called on parents to be involved in the affairs of their wards and guide them through the placement processes.
