Develop soft skills to enhance job opportunities -Director General of GES

The Director General of Ghana Education Service, GES, Dr Eric Nkansah has underscored the need for digital upscaling among the youth especially university graduates to stay competitive in the growing digital economies.

Speaking at the 32nd graduation ceremony of Valley View University in Accra, Dr. Nkansa urged the graduates to develop soft skills and adaptability qualities to be able to navigate the complexity of the job market.

The 32nd graduation ceremony of Valley View University was on the theme: Equipped with service: Leading with Excellence and Integrity.

820 students were awarded in various degrees of study.

The Director General of Ghana Education Service, Dr Eric Nkansa said that even though there are theories that suggest that the emergence of technological devices and Artificial Intelligence have the potential of replacing about 300 million jobs, there are opportunities for those who embrace technological skill development.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor William Koomson urged the graduates to be agents of change in society.

The overall best student, Raymond Kwaku Boateng in his valedictory speech charged his colleagues to do all it takes to be innovative and exhibit the knowledge they have acquired throughout their university journey.

For the past 45 years, Valley View University as a private university has contributed to the country’s socio-economic fabric in areas such as health, education, agriculture, and many others.
