Osabarima Dr. Kwasi Attah II, the Oguaamanhene, has honored Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with a symbolic chieftaincy crown.

Dr. Bawumia arrived in Cape Coast on Sunday evening for his Central Regional tour. Before beginning his campaign activities, he paid a courtesy visit to the Oguaamanhene and his elders to seek their blessings.

During the visit, Dr. Bawumia congratulated Osabarima Dr. Kwesi Attah on the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the throne. Accompanied by several Ministers of State and senior campaign advisors, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the importance of showing respect and seeking blessings from traditional leaders.

“You are the Overlord of Oguaa, and I can’t just enter and start my campaign activities without coming here to greet you and seek your blessings,” Dr. Bawumia stated.

He discussed his presidential bid and requested the support and prayers of the Oguaamanhene and the people of Oguaa, promising to maintain his close relationship with the traditional leader.

In response, Osabarima Dr. Kwesi Attah expressed his gratitude and assured Dr. Bawumia of his continuous prayers. “You are seeking the face of God, and when we pray to God, He listens. We will continue to pray for you for the battle ahead,” said the Oguaamanhene, before bestowing a symbolic crown upon Dr. Bawumia.
