Speaking at a News Conference, Head of West Africa Examinations Council, John Kapi, said the Revised Rules and Regulations for dealing with cases of irregularity in the Councils Examinations will be put to use for the first time in this year’s Examinations.

He urged invigilators, students and all stakeholders to comply by the rules to ensure a smooth conduct of the Examination.

Mr Kapi outlined a number of text security measures such as serialisation of some question papers for some subjects and tracking of operators of rogue websites have been put in place.

He said any culprit arrested will be made to face the full rigors of the law.

Mr Kapi cautioned parents who move their wards from private schools to write the Examination in public schools to desist from such acts.

He said this is against the regulation of GES and WAEC.

He said the council is presently investigating a number of such cases and will annul the registration of such candidates after the investigation.
