Tolon Senior High School (SHS) has been closed down for one week, following a fire outbreak that destroyed the girls’ dormitory.
The inferno started around 9 am Thursday, May 9, 2022, but it took fire personnel in Tamale nearly an hour to get to the school to put out the fire.
Tolon is about 30 Kilometers from the Regional capital, Tamale and has no fire station.
The Headmaster, Mr. Mohammed Issifu, told GBC News that the closure has become necessary because the school has no immediate accommodation for students.
