The Member of Parliament for Nabdam in the Upper East Region, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane has entreated candidates sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations to double their steps and aim high in their educational pursuit.
In his words of encouragements, he told the candidates to aspire to be responsible citizens, stay away from examination malpractices during the exams and make good grades. He also assured them of his availability to guide them in their career opportunities.
“We all started like you standing here and today we have gotten to where we are. We are even praying you people should go higher than us. So please, take your studies very seriously. And I want to take this opportunity to wish well in your impending examinations. Respect examination rules and regulations. Stay focused, answer the questions you can and don’t cheat and God will see you throughout the period successfully,” Dr. Nawaane advised.
The Nabdam District Education Directorate presented seven hundred and thirteen (713) candidates from twenty Junior High Schools for the 2024 BECE in the Upper East Region. The MP visited the candidates in their various schools to distribute some math sets and some exercise books and to boost their morale going into the exams hall, which starts on 8th July, 2024 and ends on 12th July, 2024.
“I have been talking to your parents to invest in your education. When you’re educated, it will help you to develop yourselves and your communities. And I as your MP is doing everything possible to make the learning environment conducive for you and your colleagues. That’s why I have built many educational facilities and provided materials throughout the constituency for your learning.” He said.
Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane has been supporting BECE candidates in his constituency since 2015 with cash for the organization of mock exams, exercise books, mathematical sets and organizing trainings for staff. He is contesting again for Member of Parliament for the area on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, NDC.
