Friday, September 16, 2022, a six unit classroom block for the Abua Community in the Pru West District in the Bono East Region will be inaugurated.
The project built by the First Atlantic Bank follows the airing of the poor state of the school by GBC News some months ago.
The building which took 2 months to complete has a staff common room and an ICT laboratory.
The block is fully furnished and with maker boards. In all, the bank has provided 60 dual desks for all the classrooms. The first Atlantic Bank did not just put up a new building, but also renovated the existing old structure.
The scope of work included the reshaping of the old building, with the fixing of leaking roofs, washrooms, and the inclusion of disability ramps for easy access..
Before the construction of this new facility, most pupils sat on the bare floor for their lessons because they had had no furniture,
whiles some classes were held under trees. Today, the story is different. The board chairman of the First Atlantic bank, Mr. Amarquaye Armar is expected to hand over the facility to the community, which provided labour for the project. The first Atlantic Bank as a policy does not disclose financial information when it undertakes such corporate social responsibility initiatives.
