The event which took place at Adaklu-Sikama D.A Basic school compound was witnessed by the Country Director and staff of Pencils of Promise, chiefs and elders of Adaklu, HASU, Representatives from the District Education Office, and the general public.
The country director also used the platform to educate parents and the youths about the current trend of substance abuse and ritual money.
He entreated parents to be more careful and nurture their wards irrespective of where these vices are happening.
They also added 51 desks, 40 tables for the KG pupils as well as teacher’s tables and chairs, a Polytank and a newly constructed KVIP.
The country director, Mr. Gobah Freeman, thanked and acknowledged the MP, for his unflinching support towards the projects in Adaklu.
He called on teachers and the community members to exhibit the best culture of maintenance and serve as security for the place.
This, he said “will make the project to fulfill the intended purpose for which it’s been constructed”.
Mr. Samuel Bruku, representing the District Education Director, Mr. Francis Agbemadi, was grateful to the board and management of Pencils of Promise.
He expressed his joy for the cordial relationship that exists between the law maker and Pencils of Promise. Again, he confirmed the country director’s earlier statement that, Adaklu District Education directorate benefited a lot from this organization.
The MP on his part expressed appreciation to the country director and the management of Pencils of Promise for their support in terms of educational infrastructural development.
He confirmed that, “It is this Adaklu Sikama KG block that sums up the 24 classroom blocks that POP built in Adaklu. This is the 24th project, next to start is the 25th which will commence next week at Adaklu Anfoe”.
Mr. Agbodza used the platform to encourage the citizens of Adaklu to take education seriously, “for it’s only through education that you can meet today’s standard. There is competition in the world. And the citizens should study hard to meet that standard”.
The Lawmaker, assured the education office and teachers that the Ghana Teacher Prize Award, which he started some years back will resume this year.
He pledged to donate four street lights to the Sikama D.A Basic school to improve the security and lighting system in the school.
He pleaded to the government and all other stakeholders in the district to play their roles to improve the lives of the constituents as he will continue to do his part”.
