The National Coordinator for the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), Mark Sasu Mensah, has praised the CSSPS policy for its role in promoting equitable school distribution during an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show on October 21, 2024.
He emphasized that the system’s mandate is to ensure that qualified Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates are appropriately placed in various second-cycle institutions.
He highlighted the advantages of the computerized placement system, noting that it allows individuals to select schools from Ghana, significant from the manual selection process of previous years. He further explained that the policy aims to assist vulnerable members of society and increase access to educational opportunities for those who may have previously struggled to secure admission.
Moreover, he pointed out that the CSSPS has brought added value to education and has positively influenced the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy. The system’s impact on education has been far-reaching, benefiting both students and the broader educational landscape.
