Director of Quality Assurance and Head of the Department of Child Health at the Family Health University (FHU), Dr. Omobolanle Ozoya, has admonished Senior High School (SHS) students to opt for universities that provide tailor-made courses that offer employment right after graduation.
Dr. Ozoya gave the admonition when addressing some final-year students from Nungua SHS, O’Reilly SHS, Labone SHS, Osu Presec SHS, La Presec SHS, Osu Salem SHS and Teshie Technical Training Institute who paid a day’s working tour to FHU.
According to the Director of Quality Assurance and Head of Department of Child Health of FHU, the university runs tailor-made and cutting-edge courses to provide immediate employment opportunities for its graduates.
“FHU is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, research innovation, and student development. With a commitment to providing an inclusive and dynamic learning environment, FHU empowers students to pursue their passions and develop critical skills that make them suitable for the job market,” she said.
The students toured key academic facilities and departments like the School of Nursing & Midwifery, E-libraries, student accommodation facilities, the Family Health Hospital, and research centres. Among others.
The management of FHU opened its doors to prospective students through a programme dubbed “Engaging and Informative Day,” which showcases the university’s diverse academic offerings, state-of-the-art facilities, and vibrant campus life.
Touching on the current status of the university, Dr. Ozoya emphasised that the institution achieved its prestigious Presidential Charter, which makes Family Health University (FHU) a fully-fledged university through dedication, discipline, and hard work.
She also highlighted the impactful contributions of the vibrant alumni making significant strides across the nation as healthcare professionals.
Ms. Bridget Afedo, the Librarian at FHU, introduced students to the modern advanced e-library facilities.

She demonstrated how these resources enhance learning and make academic access more efficient for students.
At the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Dr. Patience Aniteye, the Dean, provided students with an in-depth overview of essential nursing skills that are crucial for their professional development.
Faculty members from various departments gave presentations on their respective courses, highlighting how FHU encourages hands-on learning, research opportunities, and global perspectives.
This informal setting allowed prospective students to hear firsthand about the university experience, student life, and available facilities.
The event concluded with a Q&A, where prospective students had the opportunity to ask questions about the admissions process, student support services, and what makes FHU stand out as an institution of higher learning.
