Final plea from NUGS President to factions in UTAG strike to reconsider fate of students

Emmanuel Yiadom Boakye, President of National Union of Ghana Students, NUGS,  says they are optimistic the impasse between the University Teachers Association of Ghana, UTAG and the government will soon be resolved.

He said as a student union, they are engaging relevant institutions for an amicable settlement, and hoped the issue when resolved will not reoccur.

Mr. Yiadom Boakye who spoke to GBC News sent a plea to the factions to reconsider their decisions and return to the Lecture Halls for the sake of Ghana’s future, the students.

He indicated that NUGS may be compelled to petition the President should the issue continue to drag.

Mr. Yiadom Boakye again appealed to the National Labour Commission to ”withdraw the case from Court to pave the way for negotiations”.
