A Ghanaian student in Poland, Emmanuel Adjei, a beneficiary of the Ghana Scholarship award under the Registrar of Scholarships, Kingsley Agyemang’s decentralization scheme has been selected as the Best International Student in Poland for 2020.
Emmanuel Adjei who hails from Badu in the Tain District is currently studying his Masters in Finance and Accounting at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw.
Due to his excellent academic work, he was also awarded the Erasmus+ Study Mobility Exchange at Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences in Germany to pursue technology and business design for 6 months.
Decentralization
Presenting the award to the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat through the Secretariat’s Schengen Coordinator, Mr Joseph Osei Djaba, the student used the opportunity to thank Mr Agyemang for his vision and foresightedness by decentralizing the activities of the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat which has ensured that Ghanaians everywhere are able to access scholarships easily.
Emmanuel Adjei said considering his background and where he stays, it would have been difficult for him to access scholarship without the decentralization policy.
He also expressed his profound gratitude to the Schengen coordinator, Mr Djaba for his enormous support throughout his stay in Poland and that of other students.
Keep Faith
Mr Djaba also used the opportunity to encourage all Ghanaian Students in the diaspora to keep faith with the government of Ghana even as it makes efforts to put the economy back on track after the effects of the Covid-19 on almost all sectors of the economy including education.
He charged the beneficiaries to justify the huge investments being made into their education by the government by excelling in their various fields of study.
