Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Edward Boateng says the Ghanaian Community there, especially the students in Wuhan Province, the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic, are worried about the situation in Ghana currently and are planning to mobilize resources to help save their home country from the pandemic.

Speaking to GBC Mr. Boateng said the students are all doing well and their safety is hinged on their collaborative effort in adhering to the protocols laid down by medical and security personnel as well as support each other in every way.  He advised Ghanaians back home to also obey the President’s measures put in place to contain and curb the pandemic.

Touching on the economic impact of COVID-19 especially between Ghana and China, Mr. Boateng said the effects of the pandemic will have a huge negative toll on economies global.  However, he expressed hope that the economies can always be revived and that the focus right now should rather be on saving lives from being lost to the virus.
