The government says it has cleared all debts owed by the Scholarship Secretariat as at the end of December 2016.

Debt of 230 million Ghana cedis was inherited from the previous administration which put a strain on the studies of students on government scholarships both at home and abroad.

Speaking to GBC24 in Accra, the Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat, Kingsley Agyemang said the government is decentralising scholarships to make it accessible to all irrespective of locations.
