Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, says governments’ decision to appoint a Deputy Minister and a Committee for Technical Education or TVET is a result of the poor state of TVET in the country.

According to him there are about 289 Technical Education Training Institutions in the country and they have not been given any special attention for a long time leading to deterioration of technical education in the country.

Speaking at a forum on Student Engagement on the Vision of Ghana Beyond Aid in Kumasi, Mr. Osafo Marfo reiterated governments commitment and placing premium on making investment in TVET education to make it more attractive.

He said government has performed creditably in the education sector and will not lose sight of TVET education.
