About 1,446 fresh students have been admitted into the Ho Technical University (HTU) to pursue various Non-Tertiary, HND and Bachelor of Technology programmes for the 2018/19 academic year.
Out of the number 819 are males and 627 females.
Admitting the students into the University at the 26th Matriculation ceremony in Ho, the Pro-Vice Chancellor and acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Ben Honyenugah urged them to abide by the rules and regulations of the University which prohibit examination malpractices, sexual assault, homosexuality, occultism among others.
He also advised them to eschew all forms of criminal acts saying that the University’s authority will not hesitate to hand over students who breach the country’s constitution to the law enforcement agencies.
Professor Honyenugah gave the assurance that the University has adequate facilities and resources as well as qualified staff to guide and support their training and personal development.
He however entreated them to take their studies seriously to achieve academic excellence which is their ultimate purpose of enrolling at the University.
A fresh student, Charles Mawunyo Abotse on behalf of his colleagues pledged to be disciplined as well as lift high the banner of the University.
He urged the University’s authority to provide them with adequate security in order to enable them have good learning environment.
