The Headmaster of Gyanekrom M/A School in Krachi West of the Oti Region, Mr. Richmond Badu has called on the Government and NGOs to come to their aid.
Mr. Badu said the school lacks furniture and the school building is not in good shape. He added that, it is making teaching and learning difficult for teachers and students.
“We don’t have school office and teachers are using a shade of a Mango tree as Office which is very bad”.
“From the Primary to the Junior High are all facing the same problem and students of three to four share the same desk”, the Headmaster added.
Mr. Badu who is not happy with the situation said due to that, the school can no longer accept new students.
Mr. Andrews Twumasi, a Teacher said the situation poses real challenges to teaching and learning.
“Because of the number of students using one desk, teaching them becomes difficult and that gives extra work”.
He appealed to the government, NGOs and individuals to come and assist the School.
Some Students told GBC News that the unavailability of furniture is negatively affecting academic work.
