The President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Angel Carbonu, has expressed confidence in Haruna Iddrisu’s ability to effectively lead Ghana’s Ministry of Education.
This follows President John Dramani Mahama’s announcement of a new ministerial lineup on January 16, which included Haruna Iddrisu, the former Minority Leader in Parliament, as the nominee for the Education Ministry.
Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, Carbonu congratulated Iddrisu on his nomination and highlighted his previous experience as Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, where he successfully navigated critical challenges.
“I see him as very capable, a very competent person who can handle any ministry, including education, once he is approved by the committee,” Carbonu stated.
He further recalled working with Iddrisu during a period of significant labour agitation, describing him as a skilled and effective leader.
If confirmed, Iddrisu will lead efforts to address key issues in Ghana’s education sector as part of President Mahama’s governance strategy.
