President of the Old Students Association of the Ghana National Senior High School in Tamale, Alhaji Baba Yakubu Mohammed, has refuted claims that some facilities alleged to be toilet facilities in the school have been converted into dormitories for students.
In an interview with Kafui Dey on GTV’s Breakfast Show, Alhaji Mohammed mentioned that, the video that has been circulated over the weekend purporting to be cubicles or toilet facilities is staged on and should not be given the attention it is purposed to attain.
He mentioned that, the facility in question which was seen with luggage and chop box believed to have belonged to some students of the school is never a toilet facility in the school though its initial construction some years ago was meant to be a toilet facility.
Alhaji Mohammed added that the chop boxes seen in the video inside the cubicles belonged to their shift systems. He also mentioned that the decision by the Ghana Education Service to ask the heads of the school to step aside was a very hasty one.
He further called on various stakeholders and media personnel to visit the school and have clarification for themselves on the viral video to ascertain whether such a thing is ongoing or not.
