Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), DR. K.B. Tandoh, says there has been an improvement in the Computerised Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) so far.
Speaking on Current Affairs Programme, ‘Talking Point’ on GTV which discussed issues confronting the efficiency of the CSSPS, Dr. Tandoh, said currently about 93% of students have been placed in schools of their choice.
Out of the number, 88,809 were self placed students.
The Head of the English Department at the University of Cape Coast, Dr. Kwabena Sarfo-Kantankah said the choice of school selection that has been left open is what is causing the problem.
He asked the Ghana Education Service to take a look at the situation.
Acting Executive Director at the Institute of Education, Peter Partey asked the Ghana Education Service, GES to take a second look at their communication system, saying the problem of the Computerised Schools Selection and Placement System is due to poor communication on the part of GES.
He asked the service to always be transparent in its dealings.
