The National Council of Parent Teachers Associations (PTA), is worried about exorbitant extra classes fees being charged Senior High School Form Two students on vacation.

This comes after Conference of Heads of Assisted Schools petitioned the Ghana Education Service (GES) for approval to organize vacation classes for the students.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the President of the PTA Council, Alex Danso said this will put financial burden on parents.

Mr. Danso is therefore calling on the GES to clearly state whether the government is bearing the cost or not.

Reacting to the issue, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, says the extra classes, which will be organised for Senior High Schools, is one of government’s intervention.

Madam Twum Ampofo, noted that the extra classes for which government is paying GH¢50 per student will start on the 19th of August.
