The Chairman of the Governing Council of the Koforidua Technical University, Prof. Samuel Nana Obeng Apori has suggested to government to consider restricting programmes being offered by Technical Universities based on material, resources and geographical location to avoid offering the same programmes in all Technical Universities across the country.
Professor Apori made the suggestion at the 14th congregation of the University in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
Meanwhile, technical universities and polytechnics in Ghana have been tasked to liaise with industries, in order to conduct Applied Research that will yield practical benefits as they prepare graduates for the job market.
It is also crucial for them to ensure that their graduates are well equipped to enter the labour market since a person’s employability is necessary for sustenance.
The Executive Secretary of the National Accreditation Board (NAB), Dr. Kingsley Nyarko threw the challenge at the 14th Congregation of the Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region.
