The Founder and President of the All Nations University (ANU), Rev. Dr. Samuel Donkor, has called for measures to be implemented to discourage wealthy persons from accessing Scholarships and loans to the disadvantage of needy students and other citizens.

Rev. Dr. Donkor lamented that there is no justification for free tertiary education when it only benefits a few.

Rev. Dr. Donkor was speaking at a graduation ceremony of the All Nations University at Koforidua, in the Eastern Regional capital.

He emphasised that tertiary students must pay for their fees; however, the government must institute measures to make soft loans available to those who cannot afford to pay their fees.

Rev. Dr. Donkor applauded the idea of allocating portions of the Value Added Tax (VAT) to education, as it creates revenue generation for funding that sector directly.

He advocated for enhanced Public Private Sector participation in education to propel growth.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, had advised the graduands to live above reproach and stay relevant to compete in the job market.
