Independent parliamentary candidate in Agona West, Cynthia Mamle Morrison has been injuncted by a District Magistrate Court in Agona Swedru, from holding herself as a parliamentary candidate in the 2024 elections.

The Court ordered that Cynthia Morrison refrain from any actions regarding the nomination process for the position of Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency.

The plaintiffs, Emmanuel Addison, Solomon Nyarko, and Harrison K. Aglago had sued Cynthia  Morrison and the Electoral Commission of Agona Swedru.

Lawyer for the plaintiffs, Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers successfully argued for an injunction to stop Morrison until after the court fully resolves the matter.

“The motion for interlocutory injunction restraining the 1st defendant from holding herself as a parliamentary candidate and the 2nd defendant from proceeding with the nomination of Cynthia Mamle Morrison as an Independent Parliamentary nominee until the matter is fully determined,” the court said.

Meanwhile, in an interview on TV3 on Saturday, October 12, 2024, Madam Morisson said she is yet to receive any documents from the Courts.
