The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has issued a statement warning the public against Beltocin and Vernetocin injections (Oxytocin 10IU/ML).

The Authority has, therefore, recalled those medicines, which were imported by Hills Pharmacy and Alpha Duo Pharma Ltd.

The Authority in a statement released Tuesday, September 26, 2023 said the product quality monitoring activities had detected that results of their laboratory analyses for both Beltocin and Vernetocin (Oxytocin) injections 10IU/ML have not been consistent with several batches failing to meet the approved quality standards.

The FDA is asking all health facilities, medical stores, and pharmacies that have any of the batches of the medical products in stock to stop administering them and return them to their suppliers and importers with immediate effect.

The Authority says it will ensure that it works with importers of Beltocin and Vernetocin (Oxytocin) injection 10IU/ML to get successful recall and safe disposal of all batches of the products.
