Black Princesses head coach Yussif Basigi has called up 35 players to resume camping in Cape Coast ahead of preparations for the upcoming U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. The team, brimming with anticipation and determination, arrived at their camp base on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 5 p.m.

This intensive training camp aims to fine-tune the players’ skills and strategies ahead of the prestigious tournament, which will commence on August 31 and conclude on September 22, 2024.

The Black Princesses are no strangers to the global stage, having made their mark in previous editions of the U-20 Women’s World Cup. With appearances in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2022, the team has gained invaluable experience and is poised to make a significant impact in this year’s tournament. The camping at Cape Coast is seen as a crucial component of their preparation, providing the players with an environment conducive to rigorous training and team bonding.

As the team gears up for its seventh appearance, their schedule in Group E has been set. The Black Princesses will kick off the tournament against Austria, a match that promises to be an exciting opener.

ollowing this, they will face New Zealand and Japan in their second and final group stage games. Each match is expected to test the team’s resolve and showcase their development under Basigi’s guidance.

The Black Princesses will not only be preparing to compete, but they are also preparing to excel and inspire.

Their journey to Colombia is a testament to their hard work and the unwavering support from Ghanaians, specifically their huge support thrown behind the team during the 2023 African Games held in Accra in March 2024, where the Black Princesses won gold in the women’s football category.
