More than 50 shops have been gutted by fire near the Royal VIP Station at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

The fire, which started around 1 p.m. on Sunday, saw over fifty phone shops and head potters’ structures razed down. The damaged property were mainly Phone and cosmetic shops.

Eyewitnesses say the District Fire Service did not show up on time, and as a result, the fire spread to other shops.

Officials of Ghana National fire Service have since brought the fire under control and investigations into the fire incident has begun.
