A major fire ravaged a section Kantamanto market in the Greater Accra Region, destroying several shops and causing severe damage.
The fire started around 1:00 a.m., and firefighters have been working hard to control the situation and stop it from spreading further.
To help the firefighting efforts, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) cut off power to the area.
Thirteen fire trucks, including additional ones from Circle, Trade Fair, and Dansoman, were brought in to fight the fire.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has deployed significant resources to tackle the blaze, but as of 6:00 a.m., efforts to completely put out the fire were still ongoing, five hours after it started.
