President John Dramani Mahama, has hinted that his government will soon launch a project dubbed the Home Ownership Scheme, which is specifically designed for personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

President Mahama gave the hint during his address at the passing out of the Regular Career Course 63 from the Ghana Military Academy, held in Accra.

The initiative, according to him, aims to support military officers and service members in acquiring their own homes as a way of improving their welfare and long-term security.

“We’ll address the most pressing concerns of your troops, starting with the need for affordable housing. We’ll focus on constructing new housing units in the barracks while refurbishing dilapidated and abandoned military accommodations across the nation.

We believe that no service personnel should have to endure sub-standard living conditions.

In addition to improved accommodation in our barracks, we’ll establish the Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme to provide officers and soldiers with the opportunity to own their own private homes,” he reiterated.
