The Chairman of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) board, Mr. Samuel Kojo Intsiaba, has made a passionate call for peace and industrial harmony at the state broadcaster.
He made the appeal at a durbar held for staff, attended by both management and board members, in Accra.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Intsiaba underscored the urgent need for cooperation between management and staff.
“We cannot grow where there is no peace,” he stated on Thursday, April 10.
His remarks come in the wake of growing internal tensions and recent developments that have placed GBC in the spotlight—issues the board has described as disturbing and detrimental to the corporation’s progress.
In March, some unionised workers demanded the immediate removal of GBC Director-General, Professor Amin Alhassan, citing uncertainty about his contract renewal, a notion which was clarified by the board chairman at the staff durbar.

However, Dr. Intsiaba reaffirmed the board’s commitment to resolving grievances through fair and ethical engagement, while urging staff to follow due process when airing their concerns.
In communicating the renewal of the Director-General’s appointment from the National Media Commission, he stated that the board would ensure management upholds policies that promote growth, staff welfare, and career development.

The board also stressed that unity is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to handle disagreements constructively.
