The Ghana Police Service has responded to a statement by one DCOP Gabriel Prince Waabu during a panel discussion on a private radio station yesterday February 19.

It says the statement made by DCOP Gabriel Prince Waabu concerning election security is unfounded and does not represent the position of the Ghana Police Service.

In a statement, the Police service noted that it completely disassociates itself from the comments and apologizes to the Ghana Armed Forces.

The statement signed by the Director of Operations ACOP, Grace Ansah-Akrofi stated that the conduct of the officer is being subjected to internal disciplinary processes.

It further notes that under the National Election Security Task Force Architecture, the Police Service works with other security services including the Ghana Armed Forces to ensure peace, security, law and order before, during and after elections therefore the approach of the 2024 elections would not be any different.
