The Ghana Swimming Association has revealed the lineup for Team Ghana at the 16th Africa Junior Swimming Championships, scheduled to take place at the Cairo International Stadium from April 30 to May 3, 2025.
This prestigious event aims to showcase young talent from across the continent, and Team Ghana will feature a blend of local and diaspora swimmers, marking an exciting time for the nation’s swimming community.The squad comprises eight swimmers competing in various events, showcasing their skills and versatility in the pool.

Among the standout athletes, Oduma Agyei will be representing Ghana in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, and 100m Butterfly events. Yemen Bozuma Cornie is set to compete in the 800m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, and 200m Breaststroke events.
Additionally, Yemen Bozuma Cornie, Johnson Gyarko, will take on the 50m, 100m, and 200m Breaststroke events, showcasing the depth of talent within the team.

Jada Yankey from UK of Ghanaian descent, will compete in multiple events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m Freestyle, as well as the 50m and 200m Breaststroke. Tamba Akin Boamah, from Canada among the diaspora swimmers will swim in several Freestyle and Breaststroke events, while Jacob Kaleem from the USA will also showcase his skills in Butterfly and Freestyle races.
The championships promise to be a thrilling opportunity for Team Ghana to compete against some of the best young swimmers in Africa.
The inclusion of both local and international athletes is a strategic move by the Ghana Swimming Association, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to developing a robust swimming culture.
