The Ghana Health Service says none of the thirty-four persons under quarantine for the Marburg virus disease has confirmed positive following their contact with the two patients who succumbed to the virus in the Ashanti Region.
A validated result from the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, of samples taken from a suspected case turned out to be negative according to the Ghana Health Service.
Speaking in an interview with GBC News, Director, Public Health of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Franklin Asiedu Bekoe, said it is the first-ever of such infections in the country.
