Ghanaian Businessman/Politician, Papa Kwesi Nduom’s son, Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom appointed lead in fight against cancer in US

US-born Ghanaian neurosurgeon, Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom, has been appointed by US President Joe Biden to lead the Cancer Moonshot project to curb cancer deaths.

Dr. Nduom, son of Ghanaian Politician and Businessman Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, was honoured at the relaunch of the programme at the White House.

The Cancer Moonshot initiative was introduced by Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom and launched by then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2016, with the mission to accelerate the level of progress against cancer.

Speaking at the ceremony Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom described the renewed project as the most exciting moment in the history of his field.

”Thank you Vice President, it is an honour being here with you and to follow the path paved by your mother and all the brilliant researchers that came before and who’s shoulder we stand upon. To the First Lady thank you for your empathy and for truly understanding the pain and the promise that is – , I’m thrilled to be able to be here”, Dr. Edjah Kweku Nduom said in an acceptance speech.
